Power your freedom
SOLAR ENERGY, WHEREVER YOU ARE
The Origami Solar Panel
Powerful, portable, modular, 100% made in Italy
The performance of a rigid panel in a portable format

Available in 330W and 500W

How it works
UNFOLD
Easily and quickly deploy the panel with our patented origami folding design

CHARGE
Plug into your portable power station, your boat/van/car solar charge controller, or your micro-inverter at home

CUSTOMISE YOUR POWER
Zip on a module to increase power output, zip off a module when your power needs are reduced, individual modules can be replaced in the event of accidental damage

FOLD
Fold it down when the batteries are fully charged or when on the move, 9 times smaller when folded

Our Origami Solar Panel models

MEDIUM 330w
6 independent modules in one Origami Panel

LARGE 500W
9 independent modules in one Origami Panel
Why it’s different
Market leading output 500W
20% more powerful than the next most powerful foldable panel on the market, making our Origami Panel the world’s most powerful foldable solar panel
Deploys up to 9x when folded
compared to classical tri and quadri-folding panels that deploys up to 4x. No need to install fixed permanent solar solutions with high visual impact and installation costs.
Upgradable
with new modules and accessories in the future, replace modules in the event of damage
20% lighter
than other foldable solar panels
40% more compact
than other foldable solar panels when folded
Entirely modular for tailor-made power
Zip on and off modules to suit your needs
Rigid structure when unfolded
combines the rigidity of fixed solar panel with the portability and compactness of foldable panels
One panel for all your adventures
avoid the hassle of buying more panels for different uses, take it with you whenever you are: sailboats, camper vans, RVs, overlanding rigs, off-grid properties, tiny houses and at home.

Developed for the outdoors together with Sailing Uma
From the original concept, our product has been developed in collaboration with nautical experts Dan and Kika from Sailing Uma.
Dan and Kika have tested all our prototypes in different conditions on Uma electric sailboat, on the RV so we can continue to optimise the Origami Solar Panel for production.

Our story
We are Sara Plaga and Kim-Joar Myklebust, founders of Levante.
The idea of the Origami Solar Panel started from a frustration of ours.
In our travels by sailboat and RV we have often faced a need that has not yet been fully satisfied. Having clean energy wherever we are.
Several times we ran out of power because the solar panels we were using were always struggling to produce enough energy to cover our needs; and we simply didn’t have enough space to install more solar.
The current solar panel solutions that we installed had too many limitations. Rigid solar panels, whilst powerful, are bulky, heavy and constrained to a permanent installation. This greatly reduces the number of applications where a rigid panel is a suitable solution, especially in a mobile context.
Portable solar panels, on the other hand, are too flimsy, still bulky and just not powerful enough to make a meaningful contribution to covering the energy requirements needed when travelling.
So we asked a question: How can we have more solar panels without using more space?

Our determination to answer this question led to an innovative solution. Taking inspiration from the solar panels used on satellites and the modularity of Lego® we developed the idea for an origami folding solar panel.
The origami technique allowed us to develop a rigid surface that could be folded in a very compact and portable structure.
Through developing and testing this concept with marine industry experts Dan and Kika from Sailing Uma over the last two years we now have a product ready to launch in two sizes 330W and 500W.
Perfect for applications where space for installation is limited, such as on a sailing boat, an RV, overlanding. You can even take it to your remote cabin. The added advantage of being able to easily transport the solar panel means that you can take it with you on all of your adventures, by sea or on land.
